South County Fire Hosts Annual Emergency Preparedness Expo on September 21

South County Fire is set to host the annual Emergency Preparedness Expo on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Community Life Center, 19820 Scriber Lake Road, Lynnwood.

The event is free and is tailored for attendees of all ages, featuring activities that focus on lifesaving skills related to various emergencies, including fires and earthquakes. Emergency professionals from across Snohomish County and Washington State will be available to answer questions about disaster preparedness. Participants can also obtain a free Narcan kit, courtesy of Verdant Health Commission, while supplies last. A bingo card activity will give visitors a chance to win prizes, enhancing engagement and learning. South County Fire Community Outreach Manager Shawneri Guzman highlighted the significance of being prepared for emergencies, noting that it can greatly reduce fear and anxiety and ultimately save lives.

The event is organized in partnership with several local cities, including Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, and Mountlake Terrace. For more information, attendees can visit the South County Fire website.
