Community Transit Enhances Bus Services with Major Changes Starting September 14

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Community Transit is making transformative changes to its bus service starting September 14, which will significantly enhance travel options for residents in Snohomish County. The agency emphasizes the importance for current riders to check updated schedules to adapt to new trip times and route changes. The restructuring aims to provide more frequent service, reduced wait times, and an overall increase in service availability, including all-day and weekend options. New connections to the Sound Transit Link 1 Line will help riders bypass I-5 congestion, improving regional connectivity. Among the new routes, Route 909 will connect the Edmonds ferry with Mountlake Terrace Freeway Station, while Route 117 will link the Mukilteo ferry with Lynnwood City Center Station.

Additionally, Route 121 will serve new areas along North Rd and Hwy 524, including Lynnwood High School. These updates will also provide better access to shopping destinations, such as Alderwood Mall, for riders from King County. Community Transit is also simplifying bus fares, setting a uniform rate of $2. 50 for all adult fares, making travel more straightforward for passengers.
