The Lynnwood Transit Center was awarded the title of the nation's top construction project at the AGC’s “Build America Grand Awards” ceremony on June 13. Kevin Barry, a director with the Baldwin Group, praised the project for its superior execution amidst numerous challenges. Mayor Christine Frizzell highlighted the vital role of individual workers, expressing gratitude for their dedication. Zach McCown from the Western States Council of Carpenters emphasized the project's economic ripple effect within the community, where workers' earnings benefit local residents. The project's funding was approved by voters in 2008, illustrating its importance over time.

With the Lynnwood Transit Center standing out among 25 award-winning projects, it sets a benchmark for future construction endeavors. The recognition aims to educate the construction industry on best practices and successful collaboration. The event brought together representatives from AGC, Sound Transit, and Skanska, showcasing the collective effort behind the project.
