Coaches, fitness experts gather at strength and conditioning conference in Lynnwood

Held at Edmonds College, the 2025 NSCA Northwest Region Conference gathered fitness professionals to discuss effective facility design and exercise programs. Catherine King and Federick Brooks led the conference, which featured trainers, strength coaches, and nutritionists eager to enhance their skills. Brooks emphasized the need for trainers to consider the layout of their facilities to accommodate various client needs and maximize efficiency. The conference benefitted from an $8,800 tourism grant from Snohomish County, which helped cover venue and catering expenses. Notable speakers included Seattle Sounders FC Coach Megan Young and sports dietitian Emily Edison, who shared insights on their respective fields.

Vagen, a veteran in strength and conditioning, discussed the importance of tailoring exercise programs for seniors, highlighting how minor adjustments can significantly impact their training. The event marked a significant collaboration between King and Brooks, aiming to elevate standards within the fitness community. The conference not only provided valuable knowledge but also fostered networking among professionals in the industry.
