Top Edmonds School District prep sports stories for 2024-25

The Edmonds School District marked the end of the 2024-2025 school year with remarkable achievements in prep sports across its four high schools. Edmonds-Woodway's boys basketball team, led by first-year coach Tyler Geving, finished second in the 3A state tournament, the highest for any Edmonds-based boys team. Star player Cam Hiatt's impressive average of 21. 8 points per game earned him accolades, and he will join Dartmouth College this fall. Mountlake Terrace's girls track team also excelled, winning the prestigious Eason Invitational and placing eighth at the WIAA state meet, their best finish since 2016.

The Hawks' performance included standout results from juniors Brynlee Dubiel and Allison Mervin in multiple events. Other notable performances included Edmonds-Woodway's girls fastpitch softball team, which claimed the 2025 2A/3A Wesco League South Conference title, and Mountlake Terrace's football team, which achieved a historic victory over all its Edmonds rivals.
