Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Edmonds School District Board of Directors will meet on Nov. 18 to review significant updates to student discipline and ethics policies. The board plans to appoint up to three members for pro and con committees for the February 2026 levy renewal ballot measure, which seeks to secure funding for district initiatives. Attendance at the meeting is crucial as state-mandated School Improvement Plans will also be presented, focusing on educational equity and safe learning environments. Proposed updates to the student discipline policy aim to prioritize restorative practices over exclusionary measures, reflecting a commitment to addressing historical disproportionality in discipline.

The board will also examine changes to wellness and nutrition policies to enhance student health and engagement. Additionally, a financial report for 2025 will be shared, along with a legislative report. The meeting, set to begin at 6:30 p. m. at the Educational Service Center, will be accessible via livestream.
