Tony Monica, a former Metro League shot put champion, now coaches his son Vincent, who is making waves in youth shot put competitions. At only 10 years old, Vincent ranks 11th nationally in the under-11 age group and recently set a personal best throw of 33-10. His father, Tony, expressed immense pride in Vincent's dedication and progress, which began just over a year ago. The Monica family has invested in a home gym to support Vincent's training and regularly participates in local meets. Vincent aims to achieve a throw of 35-6 at the upcoming AAU West Coast National Championships, reflecting his ambition and competitive spirit.

The family legacy in athletics is further enriched by the involvement of Tony's father, Denis, who provided Vincent with his first shot put. This tradition of excellence showcases the family's deep-rooted connection to the sport. Their commitment to training and competition highlights the importance of family support in nurturing young talent.
