Eagle Scout builds playground for dogs at Lynnwoods PAWS shelter

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Rudransh Bhattacharya, a ninth grader at H. M. Jackson High School, created play structures for dogs at the PAWS shelter in Lynnwood as part of his Eagle Scout project. The initiative required over 350 hours of work and engaged more than 30 volunteers, including fellow Eagle Scouts and family members. Constructed from recycled tires and painted in vibrant colors, the structures provide shelter dogs with opportunities for exercise and play.

Tang, a high-energy husky, and Daphne, a dog who has been at the shelter since December, were among the first to use the playground. Local businesses, including Les Schwab Tires and Dunn Lumber, contributed materials either through donations or discounted prices. PAWS aims to promote adoption and is actively seeking volunteers and donations to support its mission of caring for animals. The community's involvement is crucial for sustaining such initiatives, which bring joy to both dogs and potential adopters. For more information about supporting PAWS, visit paws.
