Lynnwood city officials celebrated the completion of the Scriber Creek Boardwalk Trail during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new trail features an 8-foot-wide elevated boardwalk that enhances accessibility year-round while eliminating all ADA barriers. Parks Director Joel Faber highlighted the project’s role in preserving nature connections and improving wetland functions. Funding for the $5. 6 million project came from various sources, including $2 million from the American Rescue Plan Act and local funds.

Mayor Christine Frizzell described the trail as an immersive experience reminiscent of the Cascades. Council President Nick Coelho reflected on personal memories associated with the trail, emphasizing its importance for both current and future residents. RCO Grants Manager Henry Smith acknowledged challenges faced during the project, including pandemic-related obstacles. The opening has drawn attention from the birding community, further enhancing the park's appeal.
