Keeping youth safe from firearm injury webinar June 10

Providence Hospital will host a free webinar on youth gun safety on June 10 from 7-8 p. m. in collaboration with Be SMART and the Snohomish County Health Department. The Be SMART initiative focuses on preventing youth gun injuries by promoting responsible gun storage and ownership. This educational effort aims to create safer environments for children and communities through open discussions and practical safety practices.

Participants will gain insights into effective strategies for reducing gun-related risks among young people. Gun violence remains a leading cause of injury and death among youth, with thousands affected each year. By fostering community engagement, the webinar seeks to empower families with the knowledge needed for safer gun ownership. The event reflects a growing recognition of the importance of preventive measures in addressing firearm-related incidents.
