Washingtons attorney general sees no signs of legal battles with Trump letting up
Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown expressed heightened concerns about President Trump's executive power, calling the current situation "much more dangerous. " He stated that the notion of a constitutional crisis is open to interpretation, but he personally views the circumstances as a crisis. Since his inauguration in January, Brown has filed 20 lawsuits against the Trump administration, tackling issues ranging from immigration enforcement to cuts in federal funding. During a recent town hall, he joined Oregon and California’s attorneys general to address local worries over public health funding and aggressive immigration policies. Notably, Brown is also involved in defending "sanctuary" policies that limit local law enforcement's cooperation with federal immigration actions.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta emphasized the importance of resilience among opponents of Trump, asserting that they have the power to enact change. The U. S. Supreme Court recently heard arguments regarding Trump's birthright citizenship order, with a ruling forthcoming. Brown's office plans to argue in the 9th U.
S. Circuit Court of Appeals to maintain a preliminary injunction against the citizenship order.
