SR 520 between I-5 in Seattle and Montlake Boulevard closed nightly June 2-5

Nightly closures of State Route 520 will take place from June 2 to June 5, affecting traffic between Interstate 5 and Montlake Boulevard. Eastbound SR 520 will close from 11 p. m. to 5 a. m.

on June 2 and 3, requiring alternate routes for drivers. Westbound SR 520 will close during the same hours on June 4 and 5, with detours for traffic coming from Montlake Boulevard. Additionally, the southbound I-5 ramp to eastbound SR 520 and the Montlake Boulevard ramp to westbound SR 520 will close at 10 p. m. on their respective closure nights.

Contractor crews will utilize this time for essential prep work, including tree removal, potholing for underground utilities, and placing construction barriers. This work is part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project, which aims to enhance safety and resilience in the region. The project is expected to be complete by 2031, significantly improving the infrastructure in the area.
