Scrap metal donation fundraiser at Mountlake Terrace HS May 31

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Mountlake Terrace High School Music Boosters will host a scrap metal donation fundraiser on May 31 from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. Community members are encouraged to bring unwanted metal items, such as lawn mowers, bicycles, and water heaters, to the school parking lot.

Volunteers will be present to assist with unloading donations. Proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support the MTHS music program, which plays a vital role in the school’s arts education. A detailed list of acceptable items is available on the Music Boosters website, highlighting that most metal items are welcome, while electronics and propane tanks are prohibited. This initiative not only helps clear clutter from homes but also fosters community engagement in supporting local arts. Last year’s fundraiser saw significant community participation, reflecting the area's commitment to enhancing educational programs.

Such events are crucial for sustaining extracurricular activities amidst budget constraints in public schools.
