Larsen requests nearly 37 million for 15 local projects in fiscal year 2026 spending bill

U. S. Rep. Rick Larsen requested $36. 8 million for 15 local projects in the fiscal year 2026 spending bill, submitted to the House Appropriations Committee.

This funding initiative aims to bolster job creation, enhance infrastructure, and improve vital services for northwest Washington residents. Larsen emphasized his dedication to working alongside community leaders to secure necessary funding. Among the key projects, Community Transit seeks $3 million to acquire battery electric buses, while the Edmonds Food Bank hopes to receive $2 million for an expanded facility to meet rising food assistance needs. The Port of Edmonds also aims for $4 million to repair its seawall and improve public access. Larsen previously secured over $19.

3 million for 15 projects in the fiscal year 2024 package, signed into law in March 2024. Local leaders expressed their appreciation for Larsen’s advocacy, underscoring the importance of these projects for community development. The funding will address urgent needs while fostering economic growth in the region.
