Prep track and field 50 Edmonds SD athletes to compete in state championships this week

Fifty athletes from the Edmonds School District are set to compete in the WIAA 2A/3A/4A State Track & Field Championships at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma from May 29 to May 31. Leading the charge is Mountlake Terrace's Brynlee Dubiel, who holds the fastest time in the state for the 3A girls 100-meter hurdles and is a favorite for a podium finish. Her teammate, Allison Mervin, will participate in three individual events, showcasing her impressive long jump mark of 18-4, which ranks among the best in the state. Other standout athletes include Meadowdale’s Zoe Grant in the high jump and Edmonds-Woodway’s Jaxon Pontak in the pole vault. The championships will kick off on Thursday at 1 p.
