Letter to the editor Celebrating the success of jazz connection in Edmonds
On May 17, the Edmonds Rotary Daybreakers hosted the 2025 Jazz Connection Festival at the Edmonds Center for the Arts and Edmonds Theater, celebrating student musicians' talents. The festival featured a diverse array of performances, showcasing the hard work and creativity of young artists. Five scholarships were awarded to outstanding musicians: Angela Adams, Aiden Cavanaugh, Santiago Gonzales-Corzo, Olivia Lacambra, and Alieya Por, recognizing their achievements and potential. Tam Osbourne, the Visual and Performing Arts Manager at Edmonds School District, coordinated the festival, demonstrating her leadership and passion. Committee chairs George Smith and Valerie Claypool also contributed significantly to the event's success.
The festival raised essential funds for visual and performing arts programs in local high schools. The Rotary Club expressed heartfelt appreciation to all members, families, and volunteers who supported the event. The Daybreakers look forward to continuing their support for youth arts in the community.
