Reminder Lynnwood Rotary derby race for children with disabilities June 14

The Lynnwood Rotary Club will host its eighth annual Challenge Series Derby Car Race on June 14 from 9 a. m. to noon at Lynnwood Elementary School. This event aims to create an inclusive atmosphere for children aged 5 and older with disabilities, pairing them with trained co-drivers in a competitive racing format. Families can register via the rotary club’s website or by emailing Race Chair Debbie Bodal.

The day will also feature face painting, a bounce house, and free lunch provided by Chick-fil-A, enhancing the community experience. Local nonprofit Life Enrichment Options collaborates with the Rotary Club to advocate for equal opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The derby cars were designed by Leo Finnegan, who was inspired by his son’s experiences. The event is free and open to the public, promoting community support and involvement. Webbly from the Everett AquaSox will also attend, adding to the excitement of the day.
