The Early Learning Community Gathering is set for May 29 at 5:30 p. m. at the Verdant Health Commission in Lynnwood, focusing on child care challenges in Snohomish County. The event aims to bring together families, providers, and policymakers to address barriers and explore systemic improvements in early learning. Conducted by the newly formed 19-member Early Learning Leadership Council, the assessment highlights the needs of families and child care providers.

Local representatives Julio Cortes and Carolyn Eslick will speak on the necessity of investing in child care systems. Meena Das from Namaste Data will present the findings, while traditional West African drumming by Pa Ousman Joof will enrich the gathering. Light refreshments and Spanish interpretation will be provided to ensure inclusivity. Cortes remarked that child care impacts the entire community, not just families, highlighting the event's significance. This gathering represents a crucial step toward developing equitable solutions for child care in the region.
