Edmonds College has secured a $300,000 grant from Jobs for the Future (JFF) to enhance its Advanced Manufacturing Skills Center (AMSC) programs. This two-year funding initiative will help increase access to quality jobs for students facing economic barriers. Key objectives include raising program enrollment at AMSC by at least 30% annually and expanding paid work-based learning opportunities. Dr. Amit B.

Singh, president of Edmonds College, highlighted the grant's potential to foster community partnerships and accelerate workforce program enrollment. Since its establishment, AMSC has trained over 4,300 students, with 90% successfully securing employment in the manufacturing sector, particularly in aerospace. These roles typically offer competitive wages and comprehensive benefits, fulfilling JFF’s criteria for quality jobs. Through Project ACCESS, JFF will provide technical support and peer learning opportunities to enhance educational pathways. The initiative aims to connect students with work-based learning experiences, ultimately promoting career mobility.
