The WAGRO Foundation will host the International Poetry Festival, Voces del Alma, on May 31 from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. at the Lynnwood Public Library.

This free festival celebrates Latino culture and creativity through poetry, featuring a panel of poets from various Latin American countries including Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Argentina, and Chile. The poetic anthology, Se escribe en español, includes works from migrant and refugee voices across Washington State, focusing on themes of healing, memory, and identity. Attendees will enjoy live music by Orquesta Northwest and Marco Cortes, alongside art displays and hands-on workshops. Family-friendly activities will also be available, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all. The event seeks to enhance emotional wellness and cultural pride through poetry and artistic expression.

A community open mic will allow participants to showcase their own poetic voices. This festival not only highlights the artistic contributions of the Latino community but also strengthens cultural ties within the region.
