Public invited to Memorial Day Ceremony at Edmonds College on May 20

Edmonds College will host its 12th annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 20 at 2 p. m. at the Black Box Theatre, inviting the public to honor military service members. The event, themed “We Remember,” will be emceed by Director of Veteran Resources Matthew Durkee, Black Box Theatre Director Rachel Klem, and student veterans Rafael Carrero and Arthur Walton. Vietnam veteran Donald Lachman, who served in the U.

S. Army Medical Department from 1972 to 1976, will deliver the keynote address. The ceremony will feature a presentation of colors by VFW 1040, a slideshow honoring fallen service members, and a wreath-laying ceremony. Edmonds College President Dr. Amit B.

Singh emphasized the importance of honoring all veterans, particularly those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Admission is free and open to the public, although registration is recommended. A live stream will also be available for those who cannot attend in person, ensuring wider accessibility to the event.
