In April, local veterans groups, including VFW Post 8870 and American Legion Post 66, united to aid veterans in distress. This center, managed by Catholic Community Services, plays a crucial role in preventing homelessness among its residents. On April 28, the organizations provided $2,000 in gift cards to YWCA Supportive Services for Veteran Families, which assists veterans in securing and maintaining housing. American Legion Post 66 Commander Dan Mullene stated their dedication to supporting fellow veterans in various ways.

VFW Post 8870 Commander Duane Bowman highlighted the significance of helping those in need. Program Manager Karri Wright noted that the contributions allowed them to meet veterans' needs beyond their regular funding.
