Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club keeps district music going with 10.5K donation

The Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club donated $10,500 to the Edmonds School District's music program during a presentation to the school board on July 8. For 23 years, the Rotary Club has supported the Edmonds Jazz Connection, a festival that showcases student musicians and draws significant community attendance. This year's festival featured 15 bands and choirs from local middle and high schools. The school board also approved a $4 million contract with North Coast Electric to install energy-efficient LED lighting at Edmonds Woodway High School. The board adopted the 2025-2026 budget, which estimates a surplus of around $2.

6 million by the end of the period, although this amount covers only two days of routine expenses. District officials emphasize the importance of sustainable funding for ongoing programs like music education. The next school board meeting is set for August 19 at the Educational Services Center, where community members can engage with ongoing developments.
