Overnight construction slowdowns start Wednesday night on SR 522 at I-405

Starting Wednesday night, May 7, construction will slow traffic on SR 522 at the I-405 interchange. Crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation will restrict eastbound and westbound traffic to one lane in each direction from 10 p. m. to 4 a. m.

and fully close the highway intermittently for safety. The affected ramps include the eastbound SR 522 on-ramp to northbound I-405 and the southbound I-405 to eastbound SR 522. Drivers should prepare for delays and increased congestion in the area. The construction work may only last two nights, with closures ending Saturday morning. This project is part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and safety at the interchange.

The I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project aims to alleviate congestion and enhance travel conditions. The Washington State Department of Transportation encourages drivers to plan ahead and expect additional traffic during the overnight work.
