Lynnwood veterans pitch in for VFW Day of Service at Veterans Park

Local veterans and volunteers gathered on Saturday for the fourth annual VFW Day of Service, enhancing the appearance of Lynnwood’s Veterans Park. Participants included members from Lynnwood's VFW chapter, Post 1040, along with volunteers from Heroes’ Cafe, who collectively focused on cleaning and maintaining the park. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort that mobilizes thousands of veterans in service to their communities. In addition to the park beautification, Lynnwood's VFW plans to partner with Legion Post 37 for a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 26. This ceremony will honor veterans with music, a wreath-laying, and a rifle salute.

The event is set to occur at 11 a. m. at Veterans Park, located at 44th Avenue West and Veterans Way. The collaboration between local organizations highlights the community's commitment to honoring its veterans. Such events foster community spirit and remembrance, reinforcing the significance of veteran support.
