Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Multicultural Association of Edmonds (MAE) has launched a scholarship to assist minority students in achieving their educational goals. The MAE Student Scholarship offers up to $1,000 in financial support to high school and undergraduate students who are either residents of Edmonds or have ties to the Edmonds School District. Candidates must show active community engagement through volunteer work or cultural events while discussing their cultural identity's impact on their lives. “Education has the power to transform lives,” stated MAE board member Reikke Fuentes, highlighting the scholarship's importance. This initiative not only aims to alleviate financial burdens but also to foster a sense of belonging and representation within the community.

Potential applicants should apply for FAFSA or meet financial aid qualifications. Applications are due by May 31, 2025, with further details available on the MAE Student Scholarship website. Students with inquiries can reach out via email at board@maedmonds. org.
