1 line light rail trains to experience late-night service reduction from May 1-25

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Sound Transit light rail 1 Line trains will adjust their late-night service schedule from May 1 to May 25, operating on longer headways to facilitate rail grinding and construction at Pinehurst Station. Northbound trains from Angle Lake will run every 15-20 minutes starting at 9:20 p. m. , and southbound trains from Lynnwood City Center will begin service at 10 p. m.

Rail grinding aims to enhance safety and reduce noise and maintenance costs, occurring on the track between Beacon Hill and Mount Baker stations. Signage will direct passengers to the appropriate platforms during closures, which will vary by date. For instance, the Angle Lake platforms will close on May 1 and May 4-6, while the Lynnwood platforms will close on May 7-8 and May 11. Construction at Pinehurst Station will involve stairwell and electrical work throughout May, with trains operating every 12 minutes on evenings when rail grinding is not in effect. Riders can subscribe to email alerts for updates on schedule changes and service disruptions.

Staying informed will help passengers navigate these temporary changes efficiently.
