Cascade Symphony to present The Devils Violin on May 5 in 2024-25 season finale
Tokuji Miyasaka, a celebrated young violinist, will perform with the Cascade Symphony Orchestra on May 5, 2025, at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, highlighting the orchestra's 63rd season finale. The concert features a varied lineup, opening with Borodin's "In the Steppes of Central Asia," a staple since 1880. Miyasaka, who won the CSO's "Rising Star" competition in 2018, will showcase his skills in Paganini's "First Violin Concerto," known for its technical demands and dramatic flair. After the intermission, the audience can expect a surprise performance of Rautavaara's "Cantus Arcticus," which creatively incorporates actual birdsongs from the Arctic. The evening will conclude with Tchaikovsky's vibrant "Capriccio Italien," inspired by his experiences in Rome.
Ticket prices are set at $30 for adults, $26 for seniors, and $10 for youth. The concert promises to be a captivating experience for attendees, reinforced by a pre-concert lecture by KING-FM's Dave Beck. Additional information about the CSO's upcoming season will be revealed soon.
