Sponsor spotlight Becks now offering Terramation

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Beck's Funeral Home, a longstanding establishment in Edmonds since 1951, has introduced Terramation, an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burial and cremation. The process involves placing human remains in a chamber with organic materials, where temperature and humidity are controlled to accelerate decomposition over six to nine months. Upon completion, families receive approximately one cubic yard of nutrient-rich soil, which can be used in memorial gardens or donated to "The Woodland," a local conservation area. Julie Hartman, the pre-planning advisor, provides information and can be reached at 425-771-1234. This service reflects a broader trend towards sustainable practices in the funeral industry, aligning with increasing public interest in eco-friendly options.

Beck's aims to honor the deceased while also contributing positively to the environment. The introduction of Terramation demonstrates Beck's commitment to innovation and community responsiveness. This new offering positions Beck's as a leader in adapting funeral services to meet contemporary values and environmental concerns.
