Help available in Edmonds May 21-22 for senior or disabled property tax reductions

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Edmonds Waterfront Center will host workshops on May 21 and 22 to assist moderate-income seniors and disabled individuals in applying for property tax reductions. During these sessions, participants can meet one-on-one with volunteers to confirm their eligibility and complete necessary application forms. To qualify for the exemption, household net disposable income must be less than $75,000 in Snohomish County or $84,000 in King County, with many applicants reporting property tax reductions of up to 50%. The program allows for applications covering three historical years, highlighting its potential financial impact for seniors. Those needing assistance can also visit the County Assessors office in Everett without an appointment.

Organizers emphasize that many seniors remain unaware of this long-standing program, which has been in place for years. Volunteers are available to guide homeowners through the application process in both counties. For more information, residents can access the application form and instructions for Snohomish County online.
