Heroes’ Cafe brought together over 100 veterans and their families at New Life Church in Lynnwood for a monthly gathering aimed at fostering community and support. Attendees enjoyed coffee, pastries, and a meal prepared by volunteers, emphasizing the importance of camaraderie among veterans. Larry Cambronero, who leads the Bataan-Corregidor Survivors’ Association, shared his appreciation for the connections made at the event. Beyond socializing, Heroes’ Cafe collaborates with local organizations to provide veterans with essential resources, including housing assistance. The program allocated approximately $27,000 last year for hotel accommodations for homeless veterans, equating to 270 nights of shelter.

Executive Director Gary Walderman highlighted the significance of partnerships in sustaining their efforts. Founded in 2017, Heroes’ Cafe has expanded its reach to multiple locations in the region. It continues to serve as a vital resource for veterans and their families in Snohomish County.
