May 21 deadline to sign up for 10K heat pump subsidies

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Kicking Gas campaign has announced a May 21 deadline for homeowners in Island and Snohomish Counties to apply for up to $10,000 in subsidies for home electrification appliances. Launched in 2022, the campaign focuses on promoting electric home retrofits to reduce carbon emissions. Funded by a $1. 5 million grant from the HEAR program, Kicking Gas is now in its second funding round. Homeowners can attend various information sessions, including four online, to learn about eligibility and application procedures.

Interested households can also take a survey on kickgasnow. org to assess their eligibility for financial assistance. The campaign not only aids individual homeowners but also aligns with Washington's commitment to sustainability and reducing fossil fuel use. This effort is crucial for achieving long-term environmental goals in the region. The provision of up to $10,000 in subsidies represents a significant financial incentive for homeowners considering electrification.
