No one injured but bus struck when shots fired on Highway 99 Friday

A chaotic scene unfolded on Friday night when shots were fired at a Community Transit Swift bus traveling along Highway 99 in Lynnwood. The incident occurred around 9:10 p. m. following a disturbance involving two armed suspects who displayed gang signs and fired rounds into the bus. Fortunately, no passengers were injured during the attack, though the suspects managed to escape.

Lynnwood police are actively investigating the incident and are seeking to identify a second passenger who was nearly struck by gunfire. Additionally, officers found an unresponsive man in the back of the bus, initially suspected of being shot, but later determined to be intoxicated. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Police spokesperson Cmdr. Joe Dickinson emphasized the need for community assistance in gathering information about the suspects.
