From the Founders Desk Thanks to you, were growing

Lynnwood, WALocal News

In a heartfelt message to readers, Teresa Wippel, the founder of the My Neighborhood News Network, detailed the organization's impressive growth over the past two years, with a budget increase of over 100% and a tripling of staff. This expansion has been fueled by generous donations from the community and corporate sponsorships, allowing for enhanced local news coverage across multiple platforms, including My Edmonds News, MLTnews, and Lynnwood Today. The organization has added a new reporter focusing on housing issues, reflecting its commitment to addressing critical local topics. Wippel emphasized the vital role of their journalism in helping residents understand and engage with community matters, from city council meetings to school achievements. As part of their long-term vision, they plan to create a $5 million endowment fund to secure sustainable funding, ensuring that trusted local news continues to serve over 200,000 residents.

The dedicated board of directors remains committed to this vision but requires ongoing community support to make it a reality. Wippel expressed gratitude to current donors and urged others to contribute, whether through one-time gifts or regular donations. Those interested in the endowment can reach out directly to her at teresa@myedmondsnews. com.
