Around 200 protesters gather for Hands Off protest in Lynnwood

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Approximately 200 people lined the streets of Lynnwood for a "Hands Off! " protest on Saturday morning, gathering at the intersection of Highway 99 and 196th Street Southwest. The diverse group of demonstrators held signs and waved to supportive drivers, who honked in solidarity as they passed by. This event was organized by 50501, a movement that aims to coordinate protests across all 50 states against what they describe as the authoritarian actions of the Trump Administration. This protest was the second demonstration this month, following a larger gathering on April 5 where over 2,000 people rallied in downtown Edmonds.

The ongoing engagement of community members illustrates a strong local response to national political issues. Looking ahead, another protest titled "May Day Strong" is set for May 1, further emphasizing the momentum of this grassroots movement. Participants and supporters are encouraged to connect through the 50501 Washington chapter's Facebook page and website for more information. This ongoing activism reflects a significant mobilization of citizens concerned about current governmental policies.
