Dorothy Dodd Memorial service April 27 at Edmonds North Sound Church
Dorothy Dodd's journey is a testament to resilience and tenacity, beginning with her family's immigration from Odessa, Russia, in the early 20th century. Growing up on Sauvie Island, Oregon, she was the youngest of 11 children in a family that valued self-sufficiency. After marrying Korean War veteran Jack Dodd in 1951, she embraced her role as a housewife until his death in 1980, which prompted her to enter the workforce as a coffee shop manager. One of the most poignant stories of her life centers on her ambitious restoration of a 1954 Corvette, demonstrating her unwavering determination. Despite initial skepticism from others, she sourced parts nationwide, turning a rusted relic into a stunning convertible.
Her faith and community involvement led her to become a cherished member of North Sound Church. Dorothy leaves behind a loving family, including several nieces and nephews, who will remember her strength and spirit. A memorial service is scheduled for April 27, honoring her incredible life at North Sound Church in Edmonds.
