The Sno-King School Retirees Association has awarded two $2,500 scholarships to seniors in the Edmonds School District who aspire to become educators. Kera Croft, who will graduate from Edmonds-Woodway High School, intends to major in secondary education with a focus on English at the University of Vermont. Croft has not only excelled academically, participating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, but has also engaged in various extracurricular activities, including Edmonds Heights Performing Arts and serving as president of the French Club. Meanwhile, Colin McGuire from Meadowdale High School has showcased remarkable leadership as the ASB president and captain of both the Hi-Q team and the tennis team. His future plans include pursuing a degree in history education at the University of California, Berkeley, while also participating in basketball and track and field.

The scholarships, which are renewable for three more years at $1,000 each year, reflect the association's commitment to fostering future educators. This initiative not only supports students financially but also contributes to the development of the teaching profession in the region. By investing in these students, the Sno-King School Retirees Association is making a significant impact on the future of education in the community.
