High school sports roundup for April 8, 2025

Lynnwood, WALocal News

In an exciting high school baseball matchup, Kamiak High School narrowly defeated Mountlake Terrace 3-2, showcasing remarkable talent on both sides. Andrew Fetty dominated the mound for Kamiak, pitching six innings and allowing only two hits without any earned runs. Offensively, Malachi Noet played a crucial role, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Despite strong pitching from Mountlake Terrace’s Jack Gripentrog, who struck out six batters in four innings, the team couldn't secure a win. In another game, Marysville Getchell triumphed over Lynnwood 5-3 after eight innings, with Cooper Agen excelling both as a pitcher and a batter, going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Lynnwood's Sergio Navarro contributed with a triple and two RBIs, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome. The results reflect the competitive nature of the league, with Kamiak now holding a record of 9-2 and Mountlake Terrace at 4-7. Looking ahead, Mountlake Terrace will face Shorewood on April 11, while Lynnwood seeks to break its losing streak against Marysville Getchell on April 9.
