Got any prom dresses and dress shirts sitting in your closet? This organization may be interested

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Washington Kids, an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth, is hosting a prom clothes drive until April 22 for Scriber Lake High School. With the school's lack of a parent-teacher organization to assist in planning, this initiative has become vital for students who are primarily low-income or affected by homelessness. This marks the seventh year of the drive, highlighting the organization's ongoing commitment to community support. The prom is scheduled for May 16, themed "carnival," creating excitement among students. Donations of prom dresses, dress shirts, pants, shoes, jewelry, and makeup can be dropped off at their Lynnwood office.

The office operates from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. Monday through Wednesday, extending to Friday during the week of April 13.

In addition to the prom drive, Washington Kids offers essential resources like motel vouchers and emergency food to families facing immediate homelessness, reinforcing their mission to assist those in need. This community effort not only facilitates a memorable prom experience but also emphasizes the importance of support for low-income families.
