Joseph Douglas “Joe” Malan, born on May 24, 1940, in San Francisco, left an indelible mark on his community and the dairy industry. A talented basketball player in high school, he later worked for Zellerbach Paper before transitioning to Carnation Dairy, where he served as general manager in multiple locations. Joe and his wife, Linda, embraced travel, spending time in Germany and exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, including fishing trips to Alaska. Family was central to Joe's life, with two children, Aimee and Michael, and he actively volunteered for various organizations, demonstrating his commitment to community service. His love for fly fishing and boating enriched his life, allowing him to connect with nature and his family.

Joe passed away on March 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and adventure. A memorial service will take place on April 5, 2025, at the Edmonds Yacht Club to honor his life and contributions. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for the Salvation Army or Special Olympics.
