Larsen invites 2nd District students to participate in 2025 Congressional Art Competition

U. S. Rep. Rick Larsen has officially launched the 2025 Congressional Art Competition, inviting high school students residing or studying in Washington's 2nd Congressional District to showcase their artistic skills. All submissions must be original and are due by April 14, 2025, at 5 p.

m. The winning piece will enjoy a prestigious display in the U. S. Capitol for an entire year, further highlighting the artistic talent within the district. Larsen expressed his enthusiasm for the competition, stating, "I am excited to see this year’s submissions and highlight the talent Washington’s Second Congressional District has to offer.

" This annual competition, established in 1982, has encouraged countless students nationwide to participate in an enriching artistic experience. Last year's winner, Riley Tomtan from Ferndale High School, showcased her piece "Reflection" in the Capitol, setting a high bar for this year's contestants. Participants can access competition details and entry forms on Larsen's website, and a reception is scheduled for April 18 to recognize all submissions.
