Roberts, who will take her oath of office on March 17, has a background in customer service and project management, holding a bachelor's degree in humanities from Washington State University. Jared Bond brings over 20 years of experience in the city's public works department and has earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Seattle University, along with the highest certification for operating the city’s wastewater treatment plant. Mayor Christine Frizzell lauded Bond as an inspiring leader, citing his ability to address challenging city issues with determination and a collaborative approach. Frizzell's recommendation to appoint Bond deviated from city code, which typically requires three candidates, highlighting the urgency and importance of filling the role.
