Richard K. Gibson Longtime Terrace View Presbyterian pastor founded Concern for Neighbors Food Bank
Rev. Richard K. Gibson, known as Dick, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of community service and pastoral care. Born in Pittsburgh in April 1938, he graduated from Muskingum College and earned his Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. For 30 years, he served as pastor at Terrace View Presbyterian Church in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, where he founded the Concern For Neighbors Food Bank to combat local food insecurity during economic challenges.
He was deeply committed to social justice and served on the National Self Development of People Committee, which supported low-income groups in the U. S. and internationally. Gibson's love for travel and Broadway shows enriched his life, and he shared this joy with his family. Even after retirement, he continued to teach Bible studies and care for his community, emphasizing education and peace-making.
He is survived by his wife Christine, their three children, and numerous grandchildren. His passing marks a significant loss for the community he served so faithfully.
