In a dramatic 61-59 overtime victory, the Meadowdale Mavericks defeated the Snohomish Panthers, advancing to the regional round of the WIAA 3A State Girls Basketball Tournament. This victory is a powerful turnaround for the Mavericks, who suffered devastating losses in the same tournament last year, thwarting their championship aspirations. Senior Audrey Lucas shared how last year's heartaches fueled the team's determination, with many players using shared memories as motivation. Junior Mia Brockmeyer described her personal drive for revenge after Snohomish had previously defeated them on Senior Night. The game itself was a nail-biter, with the Mavericks needing a late-game rally and overtime to clinch the win.

Lucas, who scored 16 points, overcame a slow start, demonstrating grit and perseverance that Coach Benson Sims praised.
