Audrey Barbakoff, a local author and educator, will read her picture book, "The Schlemiel Kids Save the Moon," during February’s Story Time at Edmonds Bookshop, welcoming families for a delightful morning of storytelling and crafts. The 49th Annual DeMiero Jazz Festival, held at Edmonds College on March 6-7, will feature over 40 jazz choirs and culminate in a concert at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, showcasing artists like The LHR Project and Christie Dashiell. This long-standing festival emphasizes music education, offering free daytime performances and workshops led by professional musicians. In celebration of the International Day of the Dude, the Edmonds Movie Club invites fans to dress as characters from "The Big Lebowski" for a fun event at the Edmonds Theater, including a costume contest and an after-party. Additionally, the Edmonds Center for the Arts is hosting the WE SPEAK Youth Poetry Competition, encouraging youth to express their voices on themes such as Identity and Injustice, with finalists performing on stage for a chance to win scholarships.
