One suspect at large after attempted carjacking in Lynnwood Thursday

A police response to an attempted carjacking in Lynnwood on Thursday afternoon resulted in one suspect's arrest while another remains at large. The incident occurred around 1 p. m. near the 17200 block of Highway 99 and involved the use of a firearm, prompting immediate action from law enforcement. Officers were able to capture one suspect with the help of a K9 unit, which also discovered a stolen weapon nearby.

The search for the second suspect led to a temporary lockdown at Beverly Elementary School, reflecting the heightened concern for community safety. Cmdr. Joseph Dickinson of the Lynnwood police stated that no physical descriptions of the suspects were available as of Friday afternoon. This event raises significant questions about crime rates in the region and the effectiveness of local policing efforts. Residents are urged to stay vigilant as the investigation continues.
