Lynnwood cat nonprofit needs your help to find Booberry Matcha

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Lynnwood's Whiskers In Need nonprofit is on a mission to recover Booberry Matcha, an 11-week-old domestic medium shorthair kitten, who was reportedly stolen from a PetSmart adoption room. The theft occurred on Tuesday evening when three young men, described as being in their late teens or early twenties, visited the adoption area. After a brief interaction, one of the men is suspected of concealing Booberry Matcha in his black puffer jacket and leaving the store unnoticed. This incident marks the first theft reported at the adoption room, prompting heightened concern from the organization about the safety of the animals they care for. Booberry Matcha's health is at risk, as he requires vaccinations soon and may suffer from stomach issues if not properly fed.

Whiskers In Need spokesperson Sue Masser expressed the emotional toll on the kitten, emphasizing that he has never been apart from his family. The Lynnwood Police Department has taken the case seriously, reviewing security footage from the store to identify the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police, highlighting the community's role in supporting local animal welfare efforts.
