One dead, one injured after New Years Eve shooting in Lynnwood

A shooting incident in Lynnwood on New Year’s Eve resulted in the tragic death of a juvenile male and left another injured. The event unfolded around 8:19 p. m. on December 31, 2024, in the 19700 block of 68th Avenue West. Lynnwood police responded to reports of gunfire, discovering the deceased victim in a parking lot while the injured juvenile was found nearby and taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects fled the scene on foot and are currently at large, with police urging citizens to provide any information that might assist in the investigation. Cmdr. Joe Dickinson reassured the public that the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, emphasizing there is no ongoing threat to community safety. The police department is committed to solving this case and has provided contact information for Detective Russ Sattarov for tips.
