Edmonds will celebrate Women Rock Day on January 3, honoring female pioneers in the music industry with a vibrant community event at the Old Opera House. The celebration includes live performances by local band Trash Panda Go Kart, followed by a panel discussion featuring prominent figures from the Northwest music scene, such as Seattle musician Drea Marilyn and renowned rock photographer Karen Mason-Blair. This free event, hosted by the woman-owned record store Musicology Co. and local promoters Edmonds Live Music, commemorates the significant impact of women in rock, particularly recognizing Aretha Franklin's historic induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. After the panel, attendees can network and shop with local vendors, enjoying an evening filled with live music and DJs.

The event aims to foster creativity and innovation within the community, welcoming everyone from industry veterans to aspiring musicians. Local businesses like Engels Pub and Brigids Bottleshop support this celebration, strengthening cultural ties and uplifting women in music.
