Dining Dog to donate canine Christmas cuisine to PAWS pups

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Continuing her heartfelt tradition, Dorothy Chagas, the founder of Dining Dog, is set to deliver homemade holiday meals to dogs at the Lynnwood-based PAWS this Christmas. For nearly 20 years, she has highlighted the emotional needs of shelter dogs, reminding the community that 'nobody visits the dogs on Christmas. ' Her meals, made from wholesome ingredients such as brown rice flour and yogurt, cater to canine dietary needs while adding a festive touch. Chagas's commitment to animal welfare has garnered attention, with her treats being shipped to various celebrities, further amplifying her mission. Each year, she prepares between 20 and 30 meals, showcasing the unpredictability yet dedication involved in her holiday outreach.

As eager children unwrap presents, Chagas will don a festive outfit, spreading cheer and recognition to the dogs up for adoption, ensuring they feel special during the holiday season. This initiative emphasizes the importance of kindness towards animals and encourages community engagement in local shelters, with gold stars placed on each dog symbolizing the recognition that there are no bad dogs, only the need for love and a home.
